Solidarity with Revolution in Egypt!
Down with Mubarak!? Down with Kan!
Smash the JR System?the central core of the neoliberal attacks in Japan!
February 9, 2011
The uprisings of Egyptian workers have moved the workers of the whole world.
The recent creation of an independent trade union federation and long and persistent organizing efforts under the harsh repression by the secret police, the military and the government controlled “trade unions” have inspired all of us.
Their anger is our anger. Their fight against the neoliberal structural adjustment?privatization, deregulation, looting, corruption and police repression?is our fight.
We have been fighting in Japan against one of the three most blatant neoliberal attacks of the world, which had paved the way to full-fledged neoliberal attacks in 1980s all around the world: the firing of all the striking federal air controllers in the US, the attack against coal miners union in the UK and the privatization of Japan National Railways. The struggle for reinstatement of 1,047 railway workers fired in 1980’s, and revival of great railway workers’ labor movement will inevitably open up a new uprising of Japanese workers comparable to Egyptian.
US imperialism has given the despot Mubarak a tremendous military aids in order to oppress the strategically most influential struggles of the Egyptian working class and dominate the oil rich Middle East. Japanese imperialist has given indispensable and strategic support to US imperialism through the Security Treaty. Without US military bases in Japan, especially ones in Okinawa Prefecture, with its very qualified logistic support, the US could fight none of the major wars after the WWII: the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War in 1991 and the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Capitalism is now in death agony in its global economic crisis far serious than the Great Depression of 1930’s. Kan Administration of Japan openly declared its intention to fire all the 3.6 million public service workers and “reemploy after screening” and drastically increase sales tax.
The working class is faced with decisive class war in Japan and in every corner of the globe.
Therefore, we Japanese working class will smash the Japan-US Security Alliance in order to overthrow imperialism in Japan and world over.
We fight together with brothers and sisters in Egypt until the final victory.
